She’s 4 & Ready To Explore!

Today, my baby (aka, “miss independent”) is officially four years old. The paradox? Our youngest turning four brings a whole new freedom in this household, but a twinge of sadness too. On the one hand, we have graduated from regularly scheduled nap times, sippy cups, training pants, and the toddler public meltdowns (well, almost). On the other hand, four means I don’t have a “baby” in the house anymore. The number three still felt like a sweet chubby cheeked toddler to me {insert my tears and her obvious annoyance with me in photo 2 here}. We had a fun day in the city with our family to celebrate the big day, which included her first train ride and a view that knocked her socks off…We love this city!

At home with William & Jonathon

This session was rescheduled 3 times. We had originally planned on shooting outdoors, but Chicago weather just wasn’t cooperating with us this late in the season. We finally caught a break and had a gorgeous sunny day. Unfortunately, the high temperature only reached into the mid 30’s. We decided to move indoors and I couldn’t have been happier with this yummy light! These two little guys were such good sports. Aren’t their blue eyes to die for?

Baby Jacob & Co.

The great thing about this job (outside of getting to spend time with these precious babies) is the opportunity to reconnect with friends from the past. It’s being able to see the tracks of time that have created new families, new life. The morning after Thanksgiving, I photographed Jen & Chris’s new little bundle of joy-and that’s exactly what he is…a bundle of joy. Babies melt me, big time (as if, you didn’t already know that). Just look at those lashes and lips!

Peace, Love & Family

Angie is one of the first people I met when we moved to Winnetka. A mutual friend of ours introduced us via email, this summer (thanks again, Lindsey!). We met up for dinner one night and 3 hours later we were still chatting. I’m so glad you’re my “neighbor” and that you chose me to photograph your beautiful family. You guys are great! Happy Thanksgiving!! xo
