Weeping Willows, Golden Light and A Beauty

Who knew senior year would creep up so quickly… It seems like just yesterday I was pushing you in the jogging stroller, chasing you around the park and watching Lemonade Mouth with a room full of 4th graders. You always had the chubbiest (cutest ever) of cheeks, the biggest smile and loved (still) keeping your sisters in line! This year is bittersweet for sure. How did it go by so fast?!  We are so proud of the young woman you’ve become! Can’t wait to see what you accomplish…Oh the places you’ll go! (GO IU;) XO, Mom

Drew & Halley + 2

Earlier this winter, I had the opportunity to spend a Sunday morning with this beautiful family in the city. I walked in and could instantly feel the warmth- not only from the wood burning in the fireplace, but from the open spirit of this family. Halley and I had discussed a true “day in the life” approach to the session and I love how it turned out. You can almost smell the french toast, coffee, bacon…..and you can definitely feel the love!

Connor & Katy + 2

No need to fall into the post holiday blues. I can finally share some of the great sessions I’ve been promising to post! This lovely “at home” sesh turned into a fabulous little family field trip to the Oberweis Dairy Bar. I think the kids had a great time and the look on their faces when the giant ice cream sundaes showed up was nothing short of priceless. Loved working with this family and you might just recognize Katy from The Dailey Method. She is the owner of their Northbrook location. This family’s energy was top notch! Enjoy!

Brett & Tami; At Home in the City

This is the second year I have photographed this family and it’s so fun to see how much has changed in just one year. I love that these two are always open to different ideas and are willing to get creative with the shoot. Kids especially need to warm up to their photographer and there is no better place to start than your own home. We spent some time in their new place and then headed over to the beach to capture the skyline, the city and a little bit of history. Enjoy!

Oh, the places you’ll go….

I remember a dear family friend giving me the book “Oh, The Places You’ll Go”, by Dr. Seuss, just before graduating from high school. I looked at it thinking, “Ok, I’m a little old for Dr. Seuss, but sure, thanks. Little did I realize then, how much truth and great advice existed in that one popular children’s book. It’s a favorite in our house now. This was a travel session from my time in the D.C. area back in August. I was fortunate enough to work with this beautiful rising senior and her family. The location was a private academy in Middleburg, VA and it was nothing short of stunning. Good luck Madison! Enjoy!
